OVERVIEW SAFARI
3 Days Hiking Mountain Elgon Safari takes you to the most hiked Uganda Mountain, found in eastern Uganda in Mountain Elgon national park and its one of the volcanic mountains in east Africa. The 3 days takes to astern Uganda where you will engange in mountain.
Climbing/hiking, a visit to sipi falls and source of Nile. Mount Elgon is an amazing feature found in east of Uganda and also shared with Kenya, it is said to be the 4th highest mountain east Africa standing4, 321m high, and its extinct volcano with the main activity of hiking. It is slightly tricky to climb to the top (Wagagai peak) and hence hikers are expected to be fit enough.
The mountain has a number of trails which hikers use to hike up to the top. The mountain also is home of magnificent sipi falls, gorges, hot springs, caves, also different animal species like elephants, forests, monkeys, small antelopes, buffaloes as well as around 300 species of birds
Remember that complete circuit of hiking/trekking Elgon takes around 4 to 5 days
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival day:`
Today you will meet your guide from who will pick you at the Entebbe international airport or any of one stop borders of Uganda in Busia, Malamba. Katuna, Elegu and Mutukala and drive you at the booked place off accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight
DAY 1: PICK UP FROM YOUR PLACE OF ACCOOMMODATION AND TANSFER FROM KAMPALA TO MOUNT ELGON
You will have pick up from your place of accommodation after breakfast by your driver guide, after briefing you will drive to east via number of districts which have great sceneries including the mabira forest, tea plantations, and sugarcane plantations in Lugazi, lake Victoria, river Nile at Owen falls dam, Jinja town among others.
Later reach Mbale town and have lunch and later continue you could visit sipi falls and neighboring areas that is if you still have time
Have dinner and overnight at booked lodge in sipi
DAY 2: FULL DAY HIKING MOUNT ELGON
Rise up early and have breakfast, after set out with packed lunch. Meet your park guides who will brief you and are ready to vide through the trails on mountains, there will also be porters that can help you to carry your luggage just in case its heavy. You will start with any trail such as Kapkwai, Kapkwata, or Budadiri forest exploration centre. During the hike you will have a great adventurous time. Laer returns back to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at selected place of accommodation
DAY3. RETURN TO KAMPALA AND EN-ROUTE EXPLORE JINJA
Start your day with delicious breakfast as you get ready to set off for Kampala. On your way, you will have stopover in jinja town and head to different attractions around such as Itanda falls, Bujagali falls, source of Nile, Masese fish landing site, jinja sailing club among others. Also have your lunch there and continue to Kampala or Entebbe reaching in the evening
Dinner and overnight at selected accommodation facility in Kampala or Entebbe
DEPARTURE DAY
On your last day with us, you will have relaxed breakfast and check out of the lodge depending on your departure/flight time. You will be picked and delivered to Entebbe airport or declared border post and dropped off your departure
