3 Days Chimpanzee tracking Uganda Safari takes you to Kibale Forest National Park, a home to the World’s highest concentrations of primate species with 13 species recorded including the fancy Chimpanzee, rare Red tailed Monkey, Black and white Colubus Monkeys, Olive baboons, and Barbet monkey among others. This forest offers great chimpanzee trekking and habituation, splendid bird watching, Cultural experience and striking scenic beauty. It is also a well-known habitat for the great blue Turraco.
DETAILED ITINERARY
Arrival day
Our representative from beautiful safaris Uganda will be eagerly waiting for you at Entebbe international airport or any of the one stop border points of Uganda in malamba, busia, katuna, elegu. You will be picked up and delivered to agreed place of accommodation on your first day for relaxation, dinner and overnight
Day 1: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park
Pick up from your hotel /residence after breakfast followed by a drive to Kibale National Park (5-6hrs) drive with en route stops at interesting sites and lunch in Fort Portal town. Proceed to Kibale Forest National park, check-in and relax at the accommodation facility of your choice near kibale national park
Day 2: Kibale Forest Experience (Full Day)
On this day you have the option of participating in a full-day of learning the lifestyle of the chimpanzees (a process called habituation), or simply learn the highlights of their lifestyle through trekking them and seeing their daily life-preview.
Option one: Chimps Habituation:
You may choose to learn the life style of chimpanzees (the closest relatives to humans) for a full day (a process called habituation). While walking through the forest, the guide will educate you on the various flora and fauna found in the park. You will also witness how the chimps de-nest their nocturnal nest (something they do each morning), feed, groom the young, play and construct new nest in the evening etc.
The park supports the highest concentration of primates in the world: there are 13 species, including Black-and-White Colobus, Red colobus, L’Hoests monkeys, baboons, Bush baby and abundant chimpanzees. While over 325 avian species are recorded in Kibale; there are also 144 species of butterflies and moths to be found here. We suggest a packed lunch as this might be very engaging and long.
Option Two: Chimps Trekking
After an early breakfast you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and many others.
Afternoon Activity shall depend on the chosen activity (between the above as each require different level of time commitment). In case you choose the option of Chimpanzee trekking, then after lunch we will take you for a guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.
The sanctuary offers great birding opportunities and nature walks. Besides birding, Bigodi village has a rich cultural heritage site where you can mix with the local people and enjoy the African traditions in terms of lifestyle and entertainment. Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala
This day marks the end of your safari, after breakfast checkout with an option of taking a guided walk to interesting cultural sites including “Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru” where you learn more about the interesting cultural believes of the local community.
There after we drive back to Kampala, lunch en route. But otherwise you may check-in a Kampala Hotel or Entebbe where you will also have your dinner and overnight at the hotel of your choice (budget or luxury)
Departure day
On your last day with us, you will wake up and have relaxed breakfast and check out of the lodge depending on the time of your departure/flight. You will then be picked up and transferred to Entebbe airport or declared border post and dropped off for departure
